Health is Wealth

Sunday 18 September 2022

Falling in love with self-care has been so rewarding. I've realized that my health and wellbeing needs to my priority. Stuffing myself with food that literally makes feel ill and low energy has done absolutely nothing for me. Having made a number of changes, the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. I wasted so much time feeling terrible because I wasn't empowered to understand how my habits were affecting me.

When you feel awful, all the time, that's your baseline, and you don't really understand that it doesn't have to be like that. Today I understand that real self-care is not treating myself is not buying makeup or skincare or clothes - although that does make you feel good, rather it's working on your health from within. Your body responds quickly to small changes, and it's much more rewarding long-term than eating junk food or shopping.

Each person in a different condition, or stage in their health journey, but levelling up your state of health is the smartest investment you can make. There is so much to learn - from correcting your posture and breathing, to getting enough sleep. There's also understanding how certain foods affect you and managing stress. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by it all like I used to, I now look at it as an exciting journey to becoming a better me inside and out.
