6 Things I Love About October

Thursday 6 October 2022

It's that time of year when you pull out your biggest jumpers and fluffy socks and prepare to bunker down inside as the wind and rain howls outside. I was thinking recently that perhaps we romanticise the season simply because if we didn't, it would be very gloomy. Here are some things I love about October.

πŸ‚ Seasonal Drinks

Give me the pumpkin spiced everything and lots of chai and hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Does it get better?

πŸ‚ Fabulous Knitwear

It's sweater weather, and I am absolutely for it. I love pulling out my most loved cashmere knits and pairing them with thermal leggings, so I feel toasty warm as the nights get colder.

πŸ‚ Wrapping Up in a Giant Coat

There's nothing more fun that checking out the season's outerwear trends, they are my favourite part of my wardrobe and are not just fabulous but practical too. Whether it's a classic beige trench, or an oversized leather jacket, sheepskin piece or a timeless wool coat or a stylish puffer, I am here for it.

πŸ‚ Hibernating Early as the Nights Get Longer

It's hard to beat a night in with a delicious, warming meal. Soups or stew filled with herbs and potatoes and root vegetables like carrots and parsnips are my fave during this time of year.

πŸ‚ The Orange Leaves on the Trees

The beautiful colours on the trees and the feeling of leaves crunching underfoot is unbeatable. There's no doubt the shades of autumn are one of the best things about October.

πŸ‚ The Feeling in the Air

It goes without saying that there is a fresh, crispness in the air in October that just isn't there at any other time of year. It's something you can't really describe, you just feel it.

"I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."
