'Tis the season to be shakin' cinnamon, so I thought I would share some other herbs and spices that are great additions to your wellness routine!

Clove

Recently I read about how drinking clove water can help you cleanse post-period, which intrigued me. Clove is also an amazing breath freshener, and you can use the powder to create your own mouthwash or add it to toothpaste to help encourage gum health. It's also amazing if you've got a toothache, as it has numbing properties.

Ginger

Ginger shots are amazing for getting a digestive boost in the morning and are more energizing than coffee, and better for your nerves. I also really love to put some ginger powder in my tea during colder months or when I'm on my period because it really helps warm the body. Ginger is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can be helpful for menstrual cramps.

Star Anise

Drinking star anise can help you smell naturally sweet and fresh, apparently! It comes through your pores like garlic, only instead of keeping vampires away, it will give you a lovely gourmand scent. Star anise is also used in traditional Chinese medicine to aid digestion and relieve gas.

Peppermint

Drinking peppermint tea can help with digestion after indulging in one too many mince pies! I also love a peppermint lip balm for a lovely minty zing. Peppermint is also known for its cooling and soothing properties, which can be helpful for headaches or muscle aches.

Fennel

Another amazing digestive aid, fennel can also help reduce bloating. You can drink fennel tea or add the seeds to your cooking. Fennel is also believed to have estrogenic properties, which may help with menstrual cramps.

Chamomile

A cup of chamomile tea is a sure way to help you wind down and get a restful night's sleep. Chamomile is also known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can be beneficial for overall health.
